“This is a result of disorganised relief mechanisms. People panicked and rushed to donate even similar stuff without taking 30 minutes to reflect on how the donations would get to intended recipients.Even in disasters and tragedies wait and think first.Disasters need thorough planning too.Now we are faced with a desperate population starving while thieves are benefiting. A population with no shelter, no bridges, no schools, no jobs etc yet 90% of donations was water, food, blankets being stolen by zanupf supporters etc.Look beyond excess food and blankets and instead save whatever money you raised for cyclone Idai for rebuilding of infrastructure if you are not one of the thieves who raised money for yourself masquerading as a cyclone Idai fundraiser. ” Said sisi Vee.
